Mussoorie, 10 Nov: Uttarakhand Kranti Dal Patron Trivendra Singh Panwar arrived here, today, and was welcomed by party city president Nitesh Uniyal.
Panwar claimed at a press conference that Uttarakhand Kranti Dal is going to form a government in the state with a full majority. He said that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is talking a lot about the Uniform Civil Code but people should be ashamed of it. This entire proposal of 200 pages has been read by him. It clearly states that, if a citizen of any state stays in Uttarakhand for one year, that would make the person a resident of Uttarakhand. He alleged that the government is working to mislead the people regarding land laws and original domicile.
He asserted that the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal strongly opposes the Uniform Civil Code and will not allow it to be implemented. He reminded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the uniform civil code in Uttarakhand, but the state cannot be turned into a laboratory. He added that no concrete work has been done for the development of Uttarakhand.
According to him, the BJP is plotting to abolish the concept of original residence and land laws. He reminded that the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal had fought for the creation of Uttarakhand. And now, after 24 years, it will come to power and build the future of the hilly region. He alleged that most of the land in Uttarakhand has been corruptly sold by the state government to landlords. The UKD government would take it back in 24 hours after taking over.
UKD central vice president Pramila Rawat, Kritri Kandari, Sunil Uniyal and many others were present on the occasion.
