Dehradun, 19 Jul: Tribal students from Uttarakhand and northeast states like Arunachal, Nagaland, etc., celebrated the festival of Harela by planting fruit trees at ITITI Doon Sanskriti School, Jhajhra.

Principal Vandana Bisht and several dignitaries were present on the occasion. Industrialist Manu Kochhar (CMD, Madhuban Hotels) was the Chief Guest. Tarun Vijay, former MP, and Chairman, Uttarakhand War Memorial, presided.

Manu Kochhar appealed to the students to prepare for the future with earnestness. Tarun Vijay said Harela is a unique festival to protect nature. “We must adhere to our Dharmic values to save the earth,” he emphasised.

The plants were provided by PCCF Vinod Singhal and DFO Nitish Mohan Tripathi.
