HALDWANI, 21 Mar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also addressed a a public gathering at a programme held in Haldwani on Saturday where Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was the key speaker and the chief guest. Addressing the rally, Dhami outlined the achievements of his Government over the past four years and asserted that the State has made significant strides across sectors. He reminded that during this period, Uttarakhand’s per capita income has increased by 41 per cent and the State budget has also witnessed a substantial rise.
Dhami asserted said that in the last four years, Uttarakhand has set new benchmarks of development in every sector and these years would prove to be a milestone in the State’s progress, laying a strong foundation towards achieving the goal of a developed Uttarakhand. The CM also emphasised that as a result of wide-ranging reforms undertaken in the mining sector, Uttarakhand has secured the second position in the State Mining Readiness Index released by the Government of India, adding that the State has also been awarded Rs 200 crore as a reward for this achievement.
Referring to employment and recruitment reforms, Dhami said that earlier, due to the menace of copying mafias, the dreams of many young men and women were shattered and their futures were compromised. He stated that the government has implemented a stringent anti-cheating law to ensure a transparent recruitment process and has provided government employment to more than 30,000 youth, describing it as a historic achievement.
Taking a dig at the opposition, Dhami alleged that the Congress, driven by vote bank and appeasement politics, had adversely affected the demographic balance of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. He added that the situation has now changed and anyone attempting illegal encroachment thinks multiple times, as the government is ensuring strict action against such activities.
The CM further stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a new work culture has been established wherein every rupee sent by the government reaches directly into the accounts of beneficiaries, eliminating any scope for leakage. He said that continuous efforts are being made towards the preservation and rejuvenation of religious heritage, and alleged that earlier governments had neglected these sacred sites.
Dhami also observed that the new India today possesses the capability and resolve to respond decisively to its adversaries, contrasting it with earlier times when, according to him, excessive restrictions were imposed on the armed forces. He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Uttarakhand is achieving new heights in infrastructure development, with unprecedented work being carried out in road, rail and air connectivity, marking a transformative phase in the state’s history.
