Dehradun, 2 Sep: Uttarakhand Police has got the first place in dealing with the cases of theft and in recovery of stolen property as per the report of Crime in India 2021 published by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB).
Director General of Police, Uttarakhand, Ashok Kumar today observed that the State Police had achieved this success due to maximum use of modern technology in investigating the cases of theft. He added that due to the special efforts made by the police to recover the property, the recovery rate of the state police had been highest in the country. Kumar stressed that this was the result of policing done under the vision of Smart Police of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It may be recalled that as per the latest NCRB report released for the year 2021, Uttarakhand Police has ranked number one in the recovery of stolen property with 68.7percent property recovery rate. This rate is more than double the national average of 30.2 percent in respect of other states. Uttarakhand Police is followed closely by Tamil Nadu with 64.8 percent while Himachal Pradesh has ranked third with a stolen property recovery rate of 55 percent.
