Dehradun, 1 Dec: The 20th edition of NABOTSAV, the All-India NABARD Sports & Cultural Meet, concluded on Sunday with grandeur and enthusiasm in Dehradun. The four-day event, held from 26 to 29 November, witnessed spirited participation from NABARD teams across the country in sports and cultural competitions, fostering camaraderie and team spirit.

Present at the closing ceremony was Dr Ajay Kumar Sood, Deputy Managing Director of NABARD, as the Chief Guest. Padma Shri awardee Love Raj Singh Dharamshaktu, renowned mountaineer, and his wife Reena Kaushal Dharamshaktu, an accomplished adventurer, were the Guests of Honour. Their inspiring words motivated participants to strive for excellence, both, on and off the field.

The host state, Uttarakhand, delivered stellar performances. In Table Tennis Men’s Singles: Pankaj Yadav again shone by securing 1st position, reaffirming Uttarakhand’s dominance in racquet sports. Badminton Women’s Singles: Pooja Kashyap clinched 1st position, bringing glory to the home team. Badminton Mixed Doubles: Uttarakhand pair Viresh & Pooja Kashyap secured 3rd position, showcasing excellent coordination.

Key Results Across Events – Carrom Men’s Singles: Satish Shirsat (Mumbai HO) – 1st, Suresh H Kohli (Assam) – 2nd, Prakash Bokde (Madhya Pradesh) – 3rd. Women’s Singles: Geeta G Hakke (Mumbai HO) – 1st, Arti Xalxo (West Bengal) – 2nd, Laxmi Devi (Himachal) – 3rd. Mixed Doubles: Mumbai HO pair TK Maghela & Sheetal Hakke – 1st. Badminton Men’s Singles: Ravindra Sharma (Mumbai HO) – 1st. Women’s Singles: Pooja Kashyap (Uttarakhand) – 1st. Team Event: Mumbai HO emerged champions.

Table Tennis Men’s Singles: Pankaj Yadav (Uttarakhand) – 1st, Meegan Panmei (Manipur) – 2nd, Sanjay Kumar Arohan (Mumbai HO-1) – 3rd. Women’s Singles Punam Gupta (Punjab/Haryana) – 1st, Prabha B Talekar (Mumbai HO-1) – 2nd, Gayathri D (Karnataka) – 3rd. Men’s Team: Himachal Pradesh – 1st, Mumbai HO-1 – 2nd, Mumbai HO-2 – 3rd.

Cricket, 1st: Head Office Mumbai, Runner-Up: West Zone, Player & Batter of the Tournament: Bhanu Dabas (HO Mumbai), Bowler of the Tournament: Yogesh Kumar (West Zone). Chess Winner: Mahendra Singh Umar (Rajasthan RO), 1st Runner-Up: Mahesh Kuppuswami (Gujarat RO), 2nd Runner-Up: Sachin Nagappa Keriyammadever (Kerala RO).

Music Winner: Deepak Pavlankar (Head Office Mumbai), 1st Runner-Up: Dr Shashwati Subhadrashini (Telangana RO), 2nd Runner-Up: Tarun Khungar (Punjab RO).

The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shashi Kumar, General Manager, to all participants, organisers, and volunteers who made NABOTSAV 2025 a resounding success. The spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition reaffirmed NABARD’s commitment to employee engagement and holistic development, he said.
