DEHRADUN, 22 Feb: A workshop on ‘Challenges in Imaging’ was inaugurated by Director (Exploration), ONGC, AK Dwivedi at GEOPIC, here, today.
The two day workshop is being jointly organised by Society of Petroleum Geophysicists (SPG), Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE).
Director (Exploration) AK Dwivedi, in his inaugural address, said that the workshop would be an opportunity to explore the large workforce and young talent through the confluence of professional societies. He congratulated all the three professional societies for organising the workshop. The topics of the two-day workshop covered the varied geological setup.
“Energy is needed for the development of a country whether it is developing or developed country and in the quest of energy, this workshop would play a vital role,” he said. “After the workshop gets over, the participants will have enhanced their knowledge and will be more than able to take up the challenges.” He wished success to the workshop and its organisers.
Also present on the occasion were Dr Kalachand Sain, Director, Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Nancy Jones House, former SEG President, Gladys Gonzalez, Executive Geophysical Advisor at V&G Exploration Inc, USA, and former EAGE President.
The vote of thanks after the inaugural session was proposed by Romi Ganju, Secretary of SPG.
