World AIDS Day events held in Dehradun Cantt

Dehradun, 2 Dec: On the occasion of World AIDS Day, a two-day programme was organised by Military Hospital and Local Health Organisations of Dehradun under the aegis of Uttarakhand Sub Area, here. On this occasion, various events like lectures, drama, quiz and poster competition, health exhibition, etc., were organised.

On 29 November, lectures, quiz, poster competition and health exhibition were organised at Kendriya Vidyalaya Birpur and Kendriya Vidyalaya Upper Camp, Anarwala. Lectures were delivered by Lt Vinay Kumar at these events.

Today, Colonel Alok Gupta, Commanding Officer, SHO, discussed in detail the information related to AIDS and suggested spreading awareness and prevention. During the programme, a dramatic presentation was organised by Uttarakhand AIDS Control Society (Hansa Group).

On this occasion, the winning students of the poster competition and Hansa Group Uttarakhand AIDS Control Society were awarded by Major General R Premraj, GOC, Uttarakhand Sub Area, and Brigadier Parikshit Singh, Commandant, Military Hospital Dehradun.

As many as 215 army officers, soldiers and their families witnessed and appreciated the health exhibition and the play at Doon Sainik Institute auditorium. They were made aware of AIDS and its complications.
