Dehradun, 28 Feb: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the 63rd grand Koti Linga Rudra Maha Yagya organized at Shiv Mandir Shankarpur in Sahaspur today. Speaking on the occasion, he reminded that Yagyas have always held a special place in Sanatan culture. The CM also stated that in the Vedas, Yagya is described as the backbone of religion, acting as a bridge between gods and humans. They not only pave the way for spiritual advancement but also enrich society religiously, culturally, and morally. In this week-long Maha Yagya, 151 Vedpathi Brahmins are performing the Abhishek of Lord Shiva with the collective recitation of Vedic hymns and this will go on for the whole week. The organisers have claimed that the Yagya will enhance the spiritual energy across the country.

Dhami emphasised that such events are a testament to the divinity and grandeur of Sanatan traditions. He claimed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sanatan culture is gaining recognition worldwide, with many countries becoming acquainted with India’s ancient traditions and philosophy. Under his guidance, the government is continuously working towards preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of ‘Devbhoomi’ Uttarakhand. He also added that rapid work is being undertaken for the revival of Yamuna Tirtha Sthal in Haripur Kalsi.

On this occasion, the CM also announced plans to promote religious tourism in the area through the construction of a grand Shri Krishna Yamuna Tirtha Circuit, which will include the development of various ghats along the Yamuna. Once completed, grand aartis will be held, similar to those in Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Devprayag, transforming this sacred site into a significant spiritual centre. Dhami also extended his best wishes for the successful organisation of the Koti Rudra Maha Yagya and prayed to Lord Shiva for happiness, peace, and prosperity in the lives of all residents of the state.

On this occasion, Sahaspur MLA Sahdev Singh Pundir, Dharmarth Seva Charitable Trust President Acharya Nityananda Semwal, District BJP President Meeta Singh, and Municipal Council President Herbertpur Neeru Devi, along with other dignitaries, were among those present.
