Dehradun, 22 Sep: A shocking incident shook the Vasant Vihar area today when the body of a 22-year-old woman was found stuffed inside a sack in the forest near Pitambarpur Mazaar.

The police received information from the control room in the morning and immediately sent a team to the spot. They recovered the body from the bushes in the Tea-Estate Forest. The deceased was identified as Vishakha, daughter of Budhram, resident of Smithnagar, Premnagar. Her body was sent to the mortuary after completing legal formalities.

Police registered a case at Vasant Vihar police station based on a complaint filed by her cousin, Rohit Kumar. During the investigation, it was revealed that Vishakha often had disputes with her brother Vishal. Family members suspect him in connection with the murder. Vishal has been missing since the incident, and police teams are conducting raids at possible locations to arrest him.

Residents of Ambiwala and local social workers expressed anger at the management of the nearby Ambiwala Tea Estate. They said the area is not properly maintained, bushes are left uncut, and drug users gather in the estate, making it unsafe for women.

Social worker Arun Bhatt and Ward Panchayat Member Ruchi Bhatt demanded that the estate management ensure regular cleaning and security. They warned that, if no action is taken, the public and local representatives may launch protests against the tea estate.
