Dehradun, 17 Apr: Doon International School (City Campus) lifted the Overall Trophy of the 16th Inter School Rupali Memorial Art Competition.
The Doon Girls’ School and Dehradun Boys’ School celebrate the Founding Day on 17 April every year. To mark the day, the 16 th Inter School Rupali Memorial Art Competition was held in the school. As many as 30 renowned schools from Dehradun took part in various categories.
The three judges were Megha Kathuria (Bachelor of
Fine Arts), Col Bhaskar Bharti (Retd) (an alumnus of National Defence Academy and Indian Military Academy) and Vandita (Pidilite certified expert art and craft teacher).
The Schools performed extremely well. Great art skills were displayed by the students from the various schools of Dehradun.
A workshop was also held on the occasion by Mehul Bhatkoti. He is currently an Art Teacher – PGT at Delhi Public School, Kalagaon, Dehradun. His workshop was very imaginative and creative.
The staff of The Doon Girls’ School, including the Director, Monisha Datta, Principal Sumali Devgan, and Vice Principal Mohini Chauhan, were also present at the event.
Artistic skills displayed by the students were appreciated by the judges and the winners were: Category A, Ayesha Mongia, 110pts (Gyananda School) (First); (Class IV) Aarohi Bhandari, 107pts (Stepping Stones) (Second); and Kavya Jain, 99pts (Olympus High) (Third). In Category B, Gauri Singhal, 132pts (DIS- city campus) was First; Vaishnavi Dyundi, 107pts (Sun Valley School), Second, Shanaya Bagga, 98pts (Gyananda), Third. In category C, Shivansh Ojha, 112pts (DIS – city campus) was first, Neha, 99pts (Him Jyoti School), Second, and Vihaan Keshav Rathi, 98pts (Summer Valley), Third.
In Category D, Riza Siddiqui, 104pts (CJM) was First, (Class VII); Shivika Gupta, 101pts (Gyananda), Second; Navya Sharma, 96pts (Welham Girls School), Third. In Category E, Lelinda Lairenlakpam, 127pts (DIS- city campus) was First, (Class VIII); Lakshita Thapa, 116pts (Raja Rammohan Roy Academy), Second, and Vanshika Shah, 115pts (Gyananda), Third.
The First Position went to DIS-City Campus, followed by Gyananda and Sun Valley.
Prizes were given away by CP Dang (Chairman), The Doon Girls’ School and Indira Goswami (Founder Member).
