New Delhi, 17 Apr: Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) paid a courtesy call on President Draopadi Murmu in New Delhi on Monday.
On this occasion, he invited the President for the Char Dham Yatra starting this month. The Governor said that the arrangements and preparations for the Char Dham Yatra have been completed.
The Governor also presented a coffee table book based on the memories of the President’s recent visit to Uttarakhand and a short film based on Nakshatra Vatika.
The Governor told the President that the Uttarakhand College Affiliation Portal has been started for the affiliation of colleges and institutions affiliated to the state universities of Uttarakhand. The objective of this portal is to make the affiliation process transparent, time bound and easy. He also informed the President about the steps being taken for the welfare of the girl child and women empowerment in the state.
