2 arrested for throwing shoe at Mussoorie Palika Chief



MUSSOORIE, 23 Oct: While taking action against four street vendors, who were accused of indecency and shoe-throwing at Municipal President Anuj Gupta, police have arrested Jitendra, son of Nathiram Indira Colony, Mussoorie, and Sita Sharma, wife of Ramprasad Sharma, and produced them in Dehradun court from where they were sent to jail. Two accused Ankur Saini and Sudha Saini were admitted to Doon Hospital. Ankur Saini has reportedly consumed poison. His mother Sudha Saini has also been admitted to Doon Hospital and is under the supervision of the police. It may be recalled that, on 19 October, street vendors misbehaved and threw shoes at Municipal Chairman Anuj Gupta and also misbehaved with member Nandlal Sonkar in support of their demand for means of livelihood as they had been removed from the Mall Road. Taking cognizance, Mussoorie police took action and sent the two accused to jail after registering cases against them under IPC sections 504,506 and 353.
