Dehradun, 23 Aug: Two female players of Dehradun Football Academy (DFA) have been selected for the Delhi Super League Championship 2022.
DFA Founder President and Head Coach, Virendra Singh Rawat has reported that Sonali Rawat and Jyoti Farswan have been selected for the Juba Sangha Football Club, owned by former international player Sushanta Dev. The club will provide free accommodation, boarding and match fees.
Sonali joined DFA in 2017 and played very well in the stopper position. In 2018, she went to the Denmark International Under-19 Woman Tournament. In 2019, DFA organised the Uttarakhand Football Ratna Awards and Sonali got the Best Player Award. Sonali’s home is in Bhauwala, here.
Jyoti’s home is in Tunwala, here. Jyoti joined DFA in 2018 and played as a stopper.
According to Rawat, both gave the trial on 13 August at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi and were selected out of 165 players in the all India level trial. A total of 22 players hve been selected to play in the Delhi Super League Championship which will start on 25 August.
