Mussoorie, 29 May: Late last night, a car went out of control and fell into a deep ditch near Galogi Power House on the Mussoorie-Dehradun Road. Two of the three people in the car died on the spot. One person saved his life by jumping out of the car. As soon as the incident was reported, Mussoorie Police, Fire Service, SDRF, 108 Ambulance reached the spot and a rescue operation was started under the leadership of CO, Mussoorie, Manoj Aswal.
Due to the depth of the ditch and darkness, the rescue operation went on from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. There was a lot of difficulty in recovering the bodies of the deceased.
CO Aswal said that there were three people in the car, out of which one person saved his life by jumping out. He informed the police about the entire incident. The other two people in the car died on the spot.
The rescue team took out the bodies of both the youths and sent them to Dehradun Coronation Hospital by 108 Ambulance. He said that the three persons were residents of Dehradun and had come to Mussoorie late in the evening for sightseeing and, while returning, the car went out of control and fell into the ditch near Galogi Power House.
He said that Major Anshuman Trikha informed through Whatsapp call from his mobile to the government phone that his car has fallen into the ditch while going towards Dehradun near Jharipani. The names of the deceased are Saurabh Trikha, son of Subhash, and Kartik Trikha, son of the late Kailash Trikha, resident of Sewak Ashram Road, Dehradun.
An investigation is underway. Ayushman’s neighbour said that as soon as he got the information about the incident, he reached the spot with Ayushman’s father.
