Dehradun, 16 Jun: Three minor students have gone missing from the Vaidik Sadhan Ashram Tapovan Gurukul located in the Raipur area of Dehradun. The incident occurred on the afternoon of 13 June. The missing children have been identified as Suraj (13), Vikas (13), and Shivam (10), all residents of Udham Singh Colony, Mohali. The Gurukul’s principal has lodged a missing boys’ complaint at the Raipur Police Station.

According to the Gurukul’s principal, Ravindra Kumar Arya, the children were brought to the ashram on 3 June by Neeraj Koda, associated with a children’s home in Chandigarh. Koda had informed the Gurukul authorities that the boys had never attended formal school and needed to start their education from the basics.

With summer vacation scheduled from 11 to 22 June, the Gurukul administration had requested Koda to take the boys back during the break and return them after the holidays. However, Koda reportedly declined and left the boys at the Gurukul, returning to Chandigarh.

As other students departed for vacation, the three boys also expressed a desire to return home. Head Acharya Kiran Kumar Arya attempted to contact Neeraj Koda to allow the children to speak with him, but Koda allegedly refused. Gurukul staff then tried to calm the boys and encourage them to stay.

Police have registered a case and begun an investigation. Although there was speculation that the boys might have returned to their homes, Raipur Police Station in-charge, Pradeep Negi, denied this. He confirmed that the boys have not yet reached their homes and added that the investigation is ongoing.
