3 killed as car plunges downhill in Rudraprayag

Rudraprayag, 23 Apr: A tragic road accident late last night claimed the lives of three young men when their car plunged into a deep gorge in Rudraprayag district. The vehicle fell nearly 250 metres, leaving all occupants dead on the spot.

On receiving information, the police and SDRF teams rushed to the site and launched a rescue operation through the night. Under the leadership of Inspector Manoj Negi and Sub-Inspector Dharmendra Panwar from the SDRF post at Augustmuni, personnel descended into the gorge in darkness and carried out a joint operation. By Thursday morning, the bodies of the three victims were recovered.

The deceased have been identified as Naveen Singh, aged 30, Anshul, aged 28, and Amit Singh, aged 35, all residents of Rudraprayag district. Officials confirmed that the bodies have been handed over to the local police for necessary formalities and further action.

The accident has cast a pall of gloom over the region, with families and residents mourning the sudden loss of three young lives. The authorities claim that coordination between police and administration is underway to complete the required procedures.
