Dehradun, 18 Jan: Six teams of CBI today conducted raids at several places in Dehradun. The properties in question are being linked to realtor Sudhir Windlass.  Speaking unofficially to certain media persons, Windlass later confirmed that CBI teams had visited his house and that he was present during the CBI team’s visit. Windlass reportedly went on to welcome the CBI investigation and expressed ‘hope’ that the CBI teams would really reach the basic reality.
He also claimed that in matter of cases registered against him with Rajpur Police Station, Investigation Officers (IOs) have been changed 4 times and none of them have been able to file any chargesheet against him which indicates that the charges levelled against him are not ‘substantial’.
It may be recalled that Windlass has been accusing Dehradun Police of continuously harassing him with ‘false’ cases and that the CBI would be able to unearth the truth. Most of the cases against Windlass have been registered in Rajpur Police Station in Dehradun. Reportedly at least 6 cases are registered against the realtor in Rajpur Police Station.
Meanwhile,  sources today claimed that the CBI had registered cases against Windlass consequent upon being handed over the investigation of allegations against Windlass. The allegations relate to charges of land grabbing and of irregular procurement of land in violation of rules. It may be further recalled that the case had been transferred to the CBI on the direction of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. It is further alleged that Windlass had been loggerheads with certain senior officials of Uttarakhand Police and had been alleging “undue harassment” by them.
Officially however, the CBI did not confirm that raids were conducted at the premises of Windlass today.

It may be recalled that Windlass had even written to the Prime Minister’s Office some months ago, mentioning undue harassment by the Dehradun Police.
