Dehradun, 24 Sep: The 5th Uttarakhand State Games being organised by Uttarakhand Olympic Association witnessed a display of skill and determination as 68 senior roller skaters from across all districts of the state participated in various competitive events.
Several competitions were held in Speed Races, Roller Hockey, and Inline Freestyle disciplines, with participants showcasing exceptional talent and sportsmanship.
During the various competitions held, a total of 13 Gold, 6 Silver, and 5 Bronze medals were awarded to the athletes in roller skating.
Dehradun emerged as the top performer, securing 9 medals, including 4 Gold, 3 Silver, and 2 Bronze. Haridwar followed with 5 medals, comprising 3 Gold, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze. Udham Singh Nagar also earned 5 medals, with 1 Gold, 2 Silver, and 2 Bronze, while Nainital took home a Bronze medal.
The Uttarakhand Olympic Association thanked its contributors including Chetan Chauhan, Principal of DPS, Rudrapur, Raunak Jain, President of Uttarakhand Roller Skating Association, Naresh Sharma, General Secretary of the Roller Skating Federation of India, Chandragupta Vikram, Chief Patron (URSA), Anil Raturi, former DGP, Amit Gupta, and Prop. Kundanmala & Amit Jewellers for the success of the programme.
Special mention was made of the national skaters and coaches including Akshit Johri, Jatin Bhatt, Siddarth Jain, Amit Dhiman, Rajan, Vishal, Abhay, Shantanu, Saroj, Babita, Manveer Rawat, Harshita, Sumitra, Ishaan Chaudhry, Arpita, Mohita, Ajay Verma and team, Nagender Negi, Niraj Jain and Jyoti, who contributed to the success of the event.
