80 people benefit from free health camp conducted by Himalayan Hospital

Dehradun, 29 Nov: A free health camp was organised by Himalayan Hospital, Jollygrant, at the Rural Health Training Centre, Gauharimafi, in which free testing was done along with counselling, today.

Various specialist doctors examined the health of people at the free health camp at the camp in Gauharimafi, Raiwala.

On the occasion, Dr Abhay Srivastava, Dr Avni Gupta, Dr Shivam Talwar from General Medicine, Ophthalmology’s Dr Shivali Yadav, General Surgeon Dr Bunty Bansal, and ENT Dr Utkarsh examined the health of the people and gave appropriate advice.

Head of the Department of Community Medicine, Dr AK Srivastava said that 80 people of different age groups got themselves examined in the health camp. Medicine distribution and consultation along with testing of sugar, blood pressure, eyes and ears of the people who reached the camp were kept completely free.

Addressing the people who reached the camp, Dr Srivastava said that they should take care of their health in the changing weather, especially elderly people. He advised drinking plenty of lukewarm water in this season. He also suggested wearing warm clothes in the mornings and evenings and sitting in the sun for 15 to 20 minutes. This provides Vitamin D to the body. He advised not eating stale food and to consume seasonal fruits.

Gender sensitivity is necessary to improve society

Dehradun, 29 Nov: Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Jollygrant, organised a workshop on gender sensitivity at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Raiwala, today. The speakers said that gender sensitivity is necessary to improve society. 

The Department of Community Medicine of Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Jollygrant, organized the workshop. Students from classes 6 to 12 participated. 

Addressing the students, Dr Vidisha Vallabh and Dr Avni said that learning the significance of gender sensitivity would reach the coming generations through the students. In such a situation, it is important to make students aware of gender sensitivity. 

Shubham, Career Counsellor of Swami Rama Himalayan University, provided valuable advice to the students. 

Principal Ramesh Sharma, SK Kushwaha along with all the teachers and staff were present at the programme conducted by Saba Praveen Siddiqui.
