Dehradun, 22 Mar: Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Namami Bansal, while addressing a press conference here, today, disclosed that, so far, 9 nomination papers have been filed for the five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand.
Of these, 2 nominations have been filed for Tehri Lok Sabha seat, 1 for Garhwal (Pauri) Lok Sabha seat, and 3, each, for Almora and Haridwar Lok Sabha seats.
Bansal also state3d that, so far, 6,357 complaints of violation of model code of conduct have been registered through the C Vigil app, which have been resolved in a time bound manner. Till now, after Kerala, the maximum number of complaints have been resolved in Uttarakhand through C Vigil app.
Special Welfare Officers have been appointed for the more than 60 thousand polling personnel of the state. A health plan is also being prepared at each booth level. The booth-wise health plan is being prepared by identifying nearby health centres, sub-district hospitals, district hospitals and higher centres so that the polling personnel can get immediate treatment in case of a medical emergency.
The Joint Chief Electoral Officer shared that there will be a need to deploy more than 12 thousand vehicles for 11,729 polling stations in the state. In addition, arrangements are also being made for postal ballots for all the personnel related to the transport department. A special initiative has been taken by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer and, under this, all the AROs have connected the respective BLOs through WhatsApp groups. Voters of their booths have been connected by BLOs through WhatsApp groups. These WhatsApp groups have been created for the purpose of special information and voter awareness for the general public.
