Dehradun, 20 Mar: Acting on the directives of District Magistrate Savin Bansal to curb black marketing of LPG cylinders and ensure cent per cent home delivery, the district administration has constituted Quick Response Teams (QRTs) for different areas. These teams carried out inspections of gas agencies today, reviewing demand, supply and related activities of LPG distribution.
According to the district officials, a total of 26 complaints regarding LPG supply were registered through helpline numbers 1077, 0135-2626066, 2726066 and WhatsApp number 7534826066. The district food and civil supplies department, stationed at the control room, is ensuring immediate action on issues related to LPG supply, cylinder availability and other grievances.
It was also informed that approximately 24,459 domestic consumers and 269 commercial consumers received LPG cylinders today. However, there remains a backlog of nearly 93,000 domestic cylinders. Presently, stock availability stands at 36,743 domestic and 1,592 commercial cylinders. The backlog has been attributed to a three-day crisis in the booking software, during which manual registers were used to record supply. Around 25,000 such entries are now being updated in the system.
The officials confirmed that alongside domestic supply, the load of commercial LPG cylinders is also being continuously increased to meet demand. The administration reiterated its commitment to ensuring timely delivery and preventing malpractice in LPG distribution across the district.
