Dehradun, 7 Apr: Unnati Tripathi, a first-year BA (English) student of Graphic Era University, Dehradun, has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing selection as India’s No. 1 squash player in the Girls’ Under-19 category for the prestigious Asian Junior Individual Championship 2026.

The 33rd Asian Junior Individual Championships will be held in Panzhihua, Sichuan Province, China, from 20 to 24 May 2026, bringing together the finest young squash talent from across Asia.

Unnati delivered an outstanding performance during the national selection trials, winning all her matches without dropping a single set—an achievement that highlights her exceptional form and dominance on the court. The trials were conducted at the Indian Squash Academy (National Training Centre) in Chennai from 31 March to 4 April 2026 under the aegis of the Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI).

Her selection marks her as one of the brightest rising stars in Indian squash. Following in the footsteps of Anahat Singh, Unnati has emerged as the second major junior talent in the country to make a significant mark at the national level.

Representing India since 2019, Unnati has consistently demonstrated dedication, discipline, and excellence in her sport. With her current form and determination, she is now focused on bringing home a medal and making the nation proud at the upcoming championship.

Her achievement is a proud moment for Graphic Era University, Dehradun, and a testament to the growing strength of Indian squash on the international stage.
