Bindra calls on Dhami, invites him to flag off first jatha

Portals of Hemkund Sahib Gurdwara to open on 23 May

Dehradun, 26 Apr: President of the Hemkund Sahib Management Trust, Narendra Jeet Singh Bindra, called on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the CM’s official residence here today to discuss the arrangements for the forthcoming Hemkund Sahib Yatra. Bindra apprised the CM of various preparations being made for the pilgrimage and extended an invitation to him to flag off the first jatha for Hemkund Sahib on 20 May 2026.

The CM assured Bindra that the government and administration are committed to providing every possible facility and ensuring the safety of devotees. He emphasised that continuous monitoring of arrangements is being carried out so that pilgrims do not face any inconvenience. He expressed confidence that the state government was working with full dedication to make the Hemkund Sahib Yatra smooth, successful and well-organised.

Bindra informed Dhami that the farewell ceremony of the first jatha would be held on 20 May 2026, led in traditional manner by the Panj Pyare. He further shared that the portals of Hemkund Sahib Gurdwara would open on 23 May 2026, marking the beginning of the pilgrimage season. Lakhs of devotees are expected to participate in the sacred journey and offer prayers at the revered site associated with Guru Gobind Singh’s spiritual austerities.
