New Delhi, 1 May: A newly released biography, “Tiger of India”, authored by Prof SS Dogra and published by India Netbooks Pvt Ltd, is drawing significant attention for its compelling portrayal of senior BJP leader Anurag Singh Thakur.
The book, which chronicles Thakur’s political journey, leadership qualities and contributions to public life, has been selected by the Uttarakhand Government, underlining its educational and inspirational value. Prof SS Dogra, a Delhi-based senior journalist originally from Himachal Pradesh, brings over three decades of experience in media and education. Currently serving as Bureau Chief (Delhi) for Himalini Magazine, he is also an active member of the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of South Asia. Over the years, he has conducted more than 331 media workshops across India and Nepal, contributing significantly to journalism training and capacity building.
Anurag Singh Thakur, born on October 24, 1974, in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, is a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and a five-time Member of Parliament from Hamirpur. He has held key portfolios in the Government of India, including Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports, and earlier served as Minister of State for Finance & Corporate Affairs.
Beyond politics, Thakur has distinguished himself as a sports administrator, former cricketer and Territorial Army officer. As former president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, he played a crucial role in strengthening sports infrastructure, particularly in Himachal Pradesh. His leadership as National President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha further cemented his connect with young Indians.
Among his notable honours are the Sansad Ratna Award (2019) and the Best Young Parliamentarian Award, recognising his impactful contributions in Parliament.
