Dehradun, 11 May: State Agriculture Minister on Monday conveyed a message of fuel conservation in view of the ongoing conflict in West Asia and prevailing global circumstances, following the appeal of Prime Minister Modi.
After attending a programme in Garhi Cantt, the Agriculture Minister chose not to use his official government vehicle and instead travelled to his camp office on a two-wheeler scooter to spread awareness among the public about fuel conservation.
He said that, under the current global situation, it is the responsibility of every citizen to use resources judiciously and avoid unnecessary fuel consumption.
Appealing to the people of the state, Ganesh Joshi urged citizens to use two-wheelers, public transport, or shared vehicles for short distances wherever possible. He said this would not only help save petrol and diesel but also contribute to environmental protection.
The Minister further stated that he would make maximum use of two-wheelers for local programmes and short-distance visits in order to spread a positive message of fuel conservation and simplicity among the public.
Ganesh Joshi added that the message given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the prudent use of resources is extremely important not only from an economic perspective but also for environmental protection and the welfare of future generations.
