Dehradun, 29 May: BJP has formally intensified its preparations for the 2027 Uttarakhand Assembly elections, with the party’s national president Nitin Nabin holding a series of marathon organisational meetings with MPs, MLAs and senior office-bearers in Dehradun during his three-day visit to the state. The meetings focused not only on internal organisational issues but also on formulating an aggressive electoral strategy aimed at securing a historic third consecutive term for the BJP in Uttarakhand.
Today was the second day of Nabin’s visit to Uttarakhand and Dehradun. Later, he is also scheduled to visit Parmarth Niketan in Rishikesh to participate in Ganga Aarti.
Earlier today, Nabin also visited the residence of the BC Khanduri to pay tribute to the late leader who passed away recently.

The lengthy meetings, which continued for several hours at a private hotel in Dehradun today revolved around strengthening the party organisation at the grassroots level, expanding outreach among voters and ensuring effective communication of government schemes and achievements to the public ahead of the 2027 Assembly polls.
Nitin Nabin gave clear instructions to the party MPs and MLAs to begin preparations for the 2027 elections immediately and work with full strength in their respective constituencies. He emphasised that the BJP’s biggest organisational strength lies in its booth-level structure and asserted that further strengthening booth committees would be the key to electoral success in the coming elections. All elected representatives were directed to remain continuously active in their Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies and maintain direct engagement with the public.

Nabin also directed MPs and the MLAs to play an active role in expanding the party’s ideological base through constituency-wise action plans. He emphasised that special responsibility will be assigned to Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs for constituencies where the party had lost in previous Assembly and Parliamentary elections, particularly those where the margin of defeat was narrow.
He asked MPs and MLAs to prepare lists of one hundred intellectuals, influential and distinguished persons in each Assembly constituency and establish contact with them to broaden the party’s ideological family. He also stressed that coordination between government and organisation must be further strengthened through such programmes.
He urged legislators to work with mandal organisations to verify and strengthen booth committees where they have not yet been formed. Since the party’s electoral strategy is booth-based, he underlined the importance of empowering booth-level workers and ensuring their active participation in the campaign.
The National President also directed that details of the state government’s schemes be taken to the people. He suggested that legislators prepare pamphlets highlighting their own contributions alongside the government’s achievements during the last five years and the previous ten years of BJP rule. These pamphlets and booklets should be distributed widely across villages to ensure that the message reaches every household.
Nabin further guided that constituencies where the party had failed to win or where the margin of defeat was small must receive special attention. Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MPs will be given additional responsibility for these constituencies, and full-time workers will be deployed by the organisation in such areas to strengthen the party’s presence.
The meeting also saw MPs and MLAs offering several important suggestions, which will be incorporated into the organisational action plan for the 2027 elections. The leadership expressed confidence that these measures will prove effective in securing victory in the forthcoming polls.
Nabin, who arrived in Uttarakhand on a three-day organisational tour, had on the first day held meetings with party workers and booth in-charges. During those interactions, he stressed the need to counter what he described as the opposition’s negative agenda through a well-planned political and organisational strategy while also motivating workers with what party leaders termed a ‘victory mantra’ for the next elections.
Besides meetings with MPs and MLAs, Nitin Nabin and BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santhosh also addressed a meeting of state office-bearers today. Discussions during the meeting centred on organisational expansion, coordination between the government and party structure and strengthening electoral preparedness at every level ahead of 2027.
The BJP leadership also reviewed the party’s performance in constituencies where it had suffered defeat in previous Assembly elections. State BJP president Mahendra Bhatt later informed the media that the national president had directed MPs and senior organisational leaders to pay special attention to such constituencies and intensify political and organisational activities there.
Mahendra Bhatt said all MLAs and MPs have also been instructed to prepare lists of 100 intellectuals from their respective Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies. The party intends to utilise these intellectuals to expand communication with different sections of society and disseminate information regarding government policies, welfare initiatives and achievements more effectively.
The meetings also focused extensively on booth management and strengthening direct interaction with beneficiaries of government schemes. The leadership stressed that active booth-level workers and strong public contact remain the BJP’s greatest political assets. Accordingly, instructions were issued to activate booth committees further, hold regular meetings and maintain continuous communication with voters at the grassroots level.
The BJP leadership additionally directed MPs and MLAs to undertake extended stays in villages and maintain a sustained presence among the public. Party leaders believe that direct dialogue with citizens and on-the-spot resolution of local issues would strengthen public confidence in both the organisation and the government.
During the party’s core committee meeting held yesterday, it was decided that every core committee member would spend two days in a designated Assembly constituency during June, July and August. During these visits, state core committee members will interact with local organisational units, hold discussions with constituency-level leaders and prepare booth-wise electoral strategies after assessing the ground situation.
The party leadership has also decided that feedback regarding local problems and public grievances collected during these visits would be conveyed to the government along with suggestions for resolution. Responsibilities for different Assembly constituencies are expected to be assigned shortly to core committee members based on their influence and organisational experience.
The 2027 Assembly elections are being viewed as politically crucial for both the BJP and the Congress in Uttarakhand. While the BJP is attempting to create history by securing a third consecutive electoral victory in the hill state, the Congress is preparing to regain power after successive defeats.
