Dehradun, 19 Jun: The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Dehradun, will organise a one-day regional media workshop, ‘Vartalap’, in Pithoragarh district on 20 June.
The workshop will centre around the theme, “12 Saal: Vishwas Ke, Vikas Ke, Jan Kalyan Ke”. Detailed discussions will be held on the public welfare schemes, development initiatives, and historic achievements of the Central Government over the past 12 years.
Local journalists, public representatives, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and senior district officials from Pithoragarh have been invited to participate. The workshop will extensively discuss the ground-level impact of the Central Government’s developmental schemes over the past 12 years and the pivotal role of the media.
Sanjeev Sundriyal, Assistant Director, PIB Dehradun, stated that the primary objective of this workshop is to establish a better and more vibrant dialogue between the government’s communication machinery and the local media. This synergy ensures that the public welfare policies of the Central Government effectively reach the last mile of society. He further stated that PIB Dehradun successfully organised a similar one-day media workshop, ‘Varta’, in Rishikesh on 17 June on the same theme, “Public Service is the Resolve – 12 Years: Of Trust, Of Development, Of Public Welfare”. Sundriyal emphasised that the upcoming Pithoragarh workshop will lay special focus on schemes driven by the Central Government for women and farmer empowerment, youth power, and healthcare services.
The event will witness participation from domain experts, senior administrative officers, and veteran journalists, who will share their valuable insights while underscoring the role of developmental journalism. Sundriyal added that such workshops will continue to be organised periodically to provide journalists with accurate updates on the progress and benefits of various ongoing Central Government schemes.
