Derhadun, 30 Jun: The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has taken serious note of indiscipline witnessed during the Parivartan Sankalp Sammelan in Pithoragarh and has issued show‑cause notices to three party leaders, directing them to submit explanations within three days. Pradesh Congress General Secretary Organisation Rajendra Singh Bhandari stated that the party is conducting Parivartan Sankalp Sammelans across the state under the leadership of Pradesh Congress President Ganesh Godiyal.
It may be recalled that during the Pithoragarh conference, party leaders Mahendra Singh Lunthi, Deepak Lunthi and District Mahila Congress President Bhavana Nagarakoti allegedly indulged in misconduct on stage in violation of party discipline during the presence of senior party leaders including the PCC Chief Ganesh Godiyal. The incident was taken seriously by the leadership and notices were served to all three, warning of disciplinary action including expulsion for six years if satisfactory replies are not received.
The notice addressed to Bhavana Nagarakoti and others points out that their conduct and presence on stage with senior leaders had harmed the party’s image and violated organisational discipline. Nagarkoti has been asked to provide a written explanation within three days, failing which strict disciplinary measures would follow. The communication was issued by Pradesh Mahamantri Rajendra Singh Munderi and copies were marked to senior leaders including Durgesh Tiwari, Ganesh Godiyal, Surendra Kumar, Sanjay Yadav, Naveen Pradhan, Pradeep Tamta and Usha Rautela for information.
Bhandari further shared that Pradesh Mahila Congress President Jyoti Rautela has relieved Bhavana Nagarakoti of her responsibilities as District Mahila Congress President and at the same time also dissolved the District Mahila Congress Committee with immediate effect. The party claims that indiscipline would not be tolerated by the party at any cost.
