Dehradun, 24 Jul: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has praised the leading newspaper of Uttarakhand in English, Garhwal Post, for its unwavering commitment towards credible journalism during the course of its 30 year journey. The CM has also extended his heartiest congratulations and best wishes to the editor, journalists, staff and readers of Garhwal Post on the occasion of the English daily completing three decades of publication.

In his congratulatory message, Adityanath said that news media do not merely compile events in a democracy but also play a vital role in refining the public opinion, strengthening the good governance and fostering a positive social consciousness. He observed that journalism committed to impartiality, credibility and public interest constitutes the real strength of democracy.
The CM expressed happiness that Garhwal Post, during its uninterrupted journey of three decades, has imbibed these values and has consistently provided serious and authentic coverage to issues concerning Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage, development, environmental concerns and the lives of its people.
Referring to the country’s progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that India is moving forward in the Amrit Kaal with the resolve of building a Viksit Bharat. In this national endeavour, he said, the role of responsible and constructive journalism is extremely significant. He expressed confidence that Garhwal Post would continue to discharge its meaningful role by placing national interest, public welfare and the larger good of society above all else, and would further continue to strengthen the awareness, positivity and the spirit of national unity.
Conveying his best wishes for the newspaper’s future, Adityanath expressed the hope that Garhwal Post would continue to scale new heights through its credible journalism, social commitment and distinguished editorial tradition.
