Dehradun, 24 Jul: BJP has welcomed the assurance given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Government’s decision to introduce the strictest legal provisions against cheating and paper leaks in public examinations. State BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt today described these measures as a guarantee for protecting the rights of youth and ensuring a bright future for the nation. He urged the opposition to cooperate in parliamentary discussions so that a foolproof examination system can be established.
Responding to the media queries, Bhatt claimed that the PM is known for dialogue, decisive action and tough measures on important issues, which is why the people repose such confidence in him that his word itself becomes a guarantee. For several days doubts and mistrust had been expressed regarding the NEET examination process. The assurance given yesterday by the PM and today’s decision of the Union Government to enact stringent anti‑cheating laws have cleared all clouds of suspicion. He pointed out that whenever irregularities had been reported, the government had ordered cancellation of examinations, CBI investigations, arrests of accused and re‑conduct of tests, leaving no scope to question its intent. Despite this, certain social organisations and opposition parties continued to spread falsehoods and rumours about cheating in NEET and other examinations. The Cabinet’s decision on paper leaks and cheating not only dispels such apprehensions but also moves towards a fully foolproof, transparent and honest examination system.
Bhatt said party workers and the people of the state openly welcome the Union Government’s dialogue, solutions and tough decisions on cheating and paper leaks. He expressed gratitude to the PM for this stern measure, stressing that the government’s stance has always been strict, decisive and committed to the future of youth. He added that the Cabinet decision is part of the zero‑tolerance policy against examination irregularities under Modi’s leadership.
Bhatt meanwhile also appealed to all the sides that once the new and amended legislation comes into force, providing for extremely harsh punishment, heavy fines and speedy disposal of cases through fast‑track courts, the controversy should come to an end. He recalled that earlier the Modi Government had already enacted the Public Examination Act, 2024 to create a strong legal framework, which is now being made even more stringent. He said that on such a sensitive issue there should be no irresponsible politics and everyone must cooperate in the constitutional process of making the examination system completely foolproof.
