Dehradun, 18 Aug: The government has claimed that the campaign ‘Mere Sapnon Ka Uttarakhand’, launched at the appeal of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, has received an overwhelming response with more than 35,000 students uploading their essays on the portal, so far. On 10 August, the Chief Minister had interacted online with nearly three lakh students of classes 11 and 12, urging them to share their vision for the state’s development in the form of essays. He had asked the youth to focus on subjects such as tourism, employment, social development, forest and environment, education, health and technology, assuring them that their ideas would be personally reviewed and incorporated into state policies wherever possible.
Dhami had also announced that 140 students presenting the best ideas would be invited to deliberate with the secretaries of the government and share their experiences directly with them as well as him. He further declared scholarships and other awards for outstanding contributors to support their careers and examination preparations. Following this announcement, entries began pouring in from across the state, crossing the 35,000 mark. Each student receives a certificate upon uploading their essay, which has added to the enthusiasm and participation in the campaign.
Coordinator Rahul Agarwal stated that this is the first initiative of its kind in the country where both Gen Z and Gen Alpha are actively participating. He noted that students from government and private schools are contributing, with essays being uploaded every minute from different corners of the state. The last date for submission on the portal is 24 August.
Officials further claimed that the CM himself is monitoring the campaign daily and reviewing its progress, reflecting the importance he attaches to this vision essay initiative. The campaign has generated widespread excitement among students, who see it as an opportunity to contribute to the future roadmap of Uttarakhand.
