Dehradun, 19 Aug: Rashtrapati Niketan, Dehradun, successfully hosted a photography and videography programme on the occasion of World Photography Day today. The programme was centred on the theme of ‘Home’. Young participants creatively expressed emotions of family, relationships, memories, culture and belonging through cameras and mobile phones.
Students from twelve leading educational institutions of Dehradun, including Doon University, DAV Public School, BRICKS Institute, Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun Photography Club, Graphic Era University, Heritage School, George Public School, DAV College, MKP, ICFAI and GRD Institute, participated in the event. Their entries reflected unique perspectives on ‘Home’, capturing sentiments of identity, tradition, attachment and togetherness.
The programme invited entries in three categories, namely photography (camera), photography (mobile) and videography. Submissions were evaluated on creativity, originality, technical quality and thematic understanding. The jury consisted of leading photographers Bhumesh Bharti, Satpal Singh Gandhi, Kanchan Negi, Nitin Kumar and Kshiti Bhoudiyal, who selected the best entries after detailed assessment.
The event was organised with the support of Rashtrapati Niketan’s management and the staff. Special coordination was provided by Scholar Siddharth Thapliyal, Vijay Bisht and the entire team of Rashtrapati Niketan, ensuring smooth conduct and providing participants with a meaningful platform to showcase their talent.
