Dehradun, 20 Aug: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) state president Vipul Maindoli today claimed that, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Uttarakhand government is working to transform youth from job seekers into job providers and partners in the state’s development. In a statement issued today, he also claimed that opportunities are being expanded in education, skills, employment, self-employment, entrepreneurship and sports, with the formation of the state’s first Youth Commission serving as a historic step to institutionalise youth participation in policy-making.

Maindoli asserted that the permanent solution to migration lies in creating employment and self-employment opportunities in the hill districts. For this purpose, three new industrial parks are being developed in Pauri, Chamoli and Almora to generate local opportunities. He added that under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Bhavishya Nirman Yojana, 10,000 students will be provided free online coaching for competitive examinations, with Rs 7 crores allocated for the scheme.

BJYM President claimed that the government’s policy goes beyond preparing the youth to secure jobs and that it aims instead at preparing them to generate employment. Youth between 18 and 30 years are being given training through IITs and IIMs, along with 30 per cent subsidy on bank loans to start new enterprises. He pointed out that the Dhami government has also set an example for the country by creating an Agniveer Cell and providing 10 per cent horizontal reservation in government services, ensuring that those completing four years of service are linked with employment, self-employment, skill training and career guidance.

Maindoli noted that transparency in recruitment has been ensured through the strict anti-cheating law and a regular examination calendar, with over 34,000 youth given government jobs. Through the Chief Minister’s self-employment schemes, loans worth more than Rs 1,389 crore have been sanctioned to over 35,000 beneficiaries, creating nearly 64,966 local jobs. He added that sports talent has also been recognised and rewarded, with prize money for players and coaches increased by 30 to 100 per cent. Uttarakhand successfully hosted the 38th National Games, winning 103 medals and securing seventh place nationally.

He said the essence of the Dhami government’s youth policy is clear: opportunities in education, strength in skills, transparency in employment, support in entrepreneurship and respect for talent. From the Youth Commission to industrial parks, free coaching to entrepreneurship subsidies and reservation for Agniveers, the government’s decisions demonstrate that the foundation of Uttarakhand’s future is being laid on the strength of its youth.
