Dehradun, 29 Sep: Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi today attended the concluding ceremony of the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha organised at Nine Palm Wedding Point, Jogiwala, for the peace of the departed souls of martyr soldiers and statehood activists. On the occasion, Minister Ganesh Joshi performed the rituals and offered oblations for the peace and salvation of the souls of the brave martyrs.
Joshi also listened to the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha and received the blessings of Acharya Shyamsundar Maharaj, who was seated at the Vyas Peeth. He prayed for the prosperity, happiness and well-being of the people of the state. On the occasion, Minister Ganesh Joshi congratulated the office-bearers of the organisation and extended his best wishes for the event.
He said that the sacrifices of the martyred soldiers and statehood activists are an invaluable legacy of Uttarakhand. It is because of their sacrifice and struggle that we are able to live in a free and secure environment today. Through such events, we respectfully remember our immortal martyrs and work towards carrying their cherished memories forward to future generations.
He said that Uttarakhand is a land of valour and every family in the state has an emotional connection with the armed forces. The state government is working with utmost sensitivity for the honour and welfare of soldiers. Along with keeping the memories of martyrs alive, safeguarding the interests of their families remains a priority of the government.
Minister Joshi said that the spiritual and cultural traditions of Uttarakhand, the Devbhoomi, have always conveyed the message of service, sacrifice, values and humanity to society. Religious events such as the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha promote positive energy and strengthen mutual harmony in society.
Former Chief Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Subhash Bhatt, Laxman Singh Bisht, Balwant Singh, Ira Kukreti, Vandana Rawat, Anuj Rawat, Umakant Bhatt and several others were present on the occasion.
