Dehradun, 20 Apr: PCC Chief Karan Mahra today chaired a zoom meeting of the State Congress Committee regarding the upcoming municipal elections. Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of PCC and former MLA Nav Prabhat also participated. In the meetings held in three phases, various topics related to the municipal elections were discussed with district, Mahangar presidents, city and Block level Congress presidents.
Mahra appealed to all the district, Mahanagar presidents, block and city presidents to begin preparations for the upcoming civic elections. He stressed that there is a need to make the people aware of the failures of the BJP Government and BJP ruled municipal bodies. He said that the people must also be made aware of the past achievements of the previous Congress governments in the state and the country so that the people could see through the lies of the BJP and the fake claims made by the ruling party. He also advised all the party functionaries to establish connect with the party workers who have been lying inactive for some reason.
Navprabhat, Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, said that there should be a team of workers in every ward, which would inform the party leadership from time to time about the complete information of the ward. At the time of delimitation, special care should be taken to ensure that the process of reservation in wards is fair. Responsibility should be assigned to party workers at the local level and reports should be sent to the state leadership from time to time. All district and Mahanagar presidents, block and city presidents also should gave their suggestions at the meeting.
State Vice President, Organisation and Administration, Mathura Dutt Joshi, Social Media Advisor Amarjeet Singh, Prem Bahukhandi, Navneet Sati, Girish Papne, Narayan Singh Rawat (President, Ranikhet), Puran Kathait (President, Champawat), Laxmi Agarwal (District President, Pachuwadun), Dr Jaswinder Singh Gogi (Mahanagar President, Dehradun), Mohit Sharma Uniyal (Parwa Doon, Dehradun), Satpal Brahmachari (Metropolitan President, Haridwar), were among those present.
