CM announces Master Plan for Nanakmatta

Nanakmatta, 23 Oct: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the Bengali Colony, here, and inaugurated the Maa Durga Temple today.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also announced the preparation of a mini master plan for the beautification of the temple and development of Nanakmatta area. On his reaching the temple premises, the people of the area presented an idol of Goddess Durga to Chief Minister Dhami as a memento.

Chief Minister Dhami extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to everyone on Durga Mahotsav, Sharadiya Navratri, Vijayadashami, Bhaiya Dooj, Govardhan Puja, Ram Navami to the people of the state. He said that it is his good fortune that he has got the opportunity to wish prosperity for the people of the state by inaugurating this grand temple of Goddess Durga. He expressed his gratitude to the Bengali society from the bottom of his heart.

On the occasion, he also paid tribute to the great sons of Bengal including Swami Vivekananda, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, Raja Rammohan Roy, who showed a new path to society.

The Chief Minister said that the great personalities who emerged from the land of Bengal have served Mother India with weapons and scriptures, sacrifice and penance whenever the need arose. He said that, be it consciousness or spirituality, science or art and culture, Bengal had showed the path of progress to the country in every field and brought glory to India in the whole world. He said that the festival of Durga Puja is also the festival of unity and completeness of India. Durga Puja in Bengal brings a new glitter, new colours and new hope to this perfection of India. This is the effect of Bengal’s awakened consciousness, Bengal’s spirituality, Bengal’s historicity, he claimed.

Dhami said that the campaign for empowerment of women is going on in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Be it the law against triple talaq or opening of bank accounts in the name of women under the Jan Dhan Yojana, construction of toilets under Swachh Bharat or delivery of LPG cylinders to every house, women’s reservation or women’s safety, the Union Government has worked extensively for the empowerment of women. The government is alert from the birth of a daughter to the safety of women. He expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for giving Manaskhand recognition at the global level by coming to the border areas of Uttarakhand including Adi Kailash, Gunji and Jageshwar recently.

The Chief Minister said that many demands of the large number of Bengali families living in Uttarakhand were pending for a long time, which the state government has now fulfilled. He said that the government has done the work of removing the word “East Pakistan” from the certificates of children of Bengali community and has given them ownership rights on Nazul land. He said that Banga Bhavan will be built in Rudrapur and a memorial site for the Partition horrors would also be built.

On this occasion, MLAs Shiv Arora, Mayor Rampal Singh, BJP District President Kamal Jindal, former MLA Dr Prem Singh Rana, Farmer Commission Vice Chairman Rajpal, SSP TC Manjunath were among those present.
