CM lauds work done by women self-help groups in U’khand

Dehradun, 12 Aug: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the stalls set up by women’s groups under the Chief Minister’s Empowered Behana Utsav Yojana and Chief Minister’s Women Self Help Group Empowerment Scheme at the Secretariat here today. Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi was also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister also purchased local products (ghee and other items) during his visit to the stalls. Addressing those present at the function. the Chief Minister asserted that the state government is working to promote women self-help groups (SHGs) in the state through various schemes. Dhami observed that the women of the state are making very good products through self- help groups. Local products are getting a new identity through these SHGs groups and employment opportunities are being provided. The Chief Minister said that Rakhis are being made by self-help groups before Raksha Bandhan. The government is providing a platform to women as per their convenience to sell their products.

Dhami also urged all the people of the state to buy locally made Rakhis and other local products for the upcoming Raksha Bandhan.

Those who displayed their products by putting up stalls at the Secretariat today included Devbhoomi SHG from Barowala, Vaibhav Laxmi Self Help Group from Dakpathar, Milan SHG from Raipur, Aastha Cluster Level Federation from Sahaspur, Vikas Cluster Level Federation from Hawalbag, Almora, Aastha Cluster Level Federation, Virangana Cluster Level Federation, and several other SHGs.

Also present were Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt, Vice President Infrastructure Monitoring Council Vishwas Dabur, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Secretary Radhika Jha, Additional Secretary Manuj Goel, CDO, Dehradun, Jharna Kamthan and others.
