Haridwar, 13 Dec: KV BHEL Haridwar marked the 62nd Foundation Day of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan with a joyous celebration, highlighted by a warm welcome to alumni.
The day began with unveiling of the Goddess Saraswati idol by TS Murli, Executive Director, BHEL, Haridwar, along with the recitation of prayers creating a serene atmosphere.
A group of students then showcased their talents through the science models, exhibits and brochures on the holy city of Haridwar to the Chief Guest and the Guests of Honour.
This was followed by a vibrant array of activities, including inclusive Western dance performance, cultural fusion dance on the theme ‘Unity in Diversity’, a small skit conveying the social message of women empowerment which captivated the attention of the audience.
Earlier, Taruna Kaur, Principal, KV BHEL, Haridwar welcomed the Chief Guest TS Murli, Guest of Honour Jitendra Mehra, CO, Sadar, Haridwar and Distinguished Guest Jitendra Pancholi, KV Alumnus, with a green welcome. In her introductory speech, she exhorted the gathering to reflect on the history of Kendriya Vidyalayas. She compared the transformation of the Sangathan and the school to the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly, which, she said, is a due result of efforts of all who are associated.”
Naveen Pant, PGT Physics, enlightened the audience with the brief history of Kendriya Vidyalayas, explaining the motto of “Tatvam Pushan Apavrinu”.
Chief Guest TS Murli expressed his happiness on the positive and creative outlook of the students towards progress. The Guest of Honour, Jitendra Mehra, CO Sadar, exhorted the students to embrace the true meaning of education and opined that the true litmus test of education lies in the capability of its citizens to give back to society.
Finally, Kiran Sharma proposed the Vote of Thanks expressing gratitude to all who contributed in making the event a success.
