Dehradun, 17 Dec: In view of the increasing cost of schemes due to non-completion of work in time, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi today issued strict instructions to officers to complete all the works approved by the Expenditure Finance Committee within the stipulated time frame.
The Chief Secretary also gave instructions to install solar rooftop panels in all the health centres, hospitals and medical colleges of the state.
Solar rooftop panels will also be installed in all schools and hostels.
The CS directed the Director General, Education, today on installation of solar rooftop panels in all the schools and hostels of the state. The Chief Secretary directed the Health Secretary to deploy adequate doctors in these areas after conducting a maternal death audit in sensitive areas with high maternal mortality rate.
While chairing the meeting of the Expenditure Finance Committee at the Secretariat, Raturi gave in-principle and financial approval for construction of parking on the lower ground floor, diagnostic wing on the first and second floor and OT in the District Hospital, Champawat. In view of the increasing demand for medical facilities in Champawat district, construction of separate parking and a administrative wing will free up about 6 rooms in the main building, which will be used for other medical facilities.
Apart from this, patients and attendants will get better car parking facilities for departmental vehicles, ambulances, etc.
The Chief Secretary also approved the proposal to upgrade the Community Health Centre in Purola as a Sub District Hospital. She asked for special attention to be paid to river protection work. She gave in-principle and financial approval for the construction work on a 50-bedded Critical Care Block in Sub District Hospital, Roorkee, construction work on the building/hostel of Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya Vidyalaya, Bageshwar, and 50-bedded Sub District Hospital building and residential building in Khanpur of Haridwar district.
Secretary Dr R Rajesh Kumar along with Secretaries, Additional Secretaries and departmental officers of all the departments concerned were present at the meeting.
