Dehradun, 6 Jan: State Milk Development Minister Saurabh Bahuguna today handed over appointment letters to 12 new State Milk Supervisors in the Hall of the state assembly, while urging them to fulfil their duties with honesty and dedication. Following this, he also discussed and reviewed an action plan for Aanchal Milk, focusing on raising production, sales, and overall development. It may be recalled that Aanchal Milk is the major cooperative dairy federation in Uttarakhand.

Officials briefed the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Bahuguna on the procurement and sales strategy of Aanchal Milk Unions. While satisfied with the increased procurement for the current financial year 2024-25, he expressed strong dissatisfaction with the low sales of Aanchal Milk and its products. He also criticised the working style of the officials and employees of the Federation. Bahuguna directed officers to prioritise the sales of Aanchal Milk products and issued a strict directive to milk union managers to take action against the negligent staff. He warned that employees failing to improve their performance within three months will face strict action.

The minister instructed milk union officials to set a six-month sales target and submit a progress report for review. Additionally, he also called for increased promotional efforts, including installing hoardings at various locations to boost sales.

The minister also directed officials to ensure the availability of Aanchal Milk products along Char Dham Yatra routes and along other pilgrimage routes during the ongoing winter pilgrimage. Special action plans were ordered for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra and Adi Kailash Yatra, ensuring tourists have access to Aanchal Milk and its products.

The meeting was attended amongst others by Secretary, Milk Development, Dr BVRC Purushottam, Additional Secretary Suresh Chandra Joshi, and presidents, directors, and other officials of the milk unions.
