Meera Saklani included in U’khand’s delegation to 12th Regional 3R & Circular Economy Forum

Mussoorie, 27 Feb: Mussoorie Municipal Chairperson Meera Saklani will be part of a state level delegation at the 12th Regional 3R & Circular Economy Forum to be held over three days in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
India will host the 12th Regional 3R & Circular Economy Forum in Asia and Pacific from 3 to 5 March 2025 at Rajasthan International Centre, Jaipur. Chairperson Meera Saklani has been nominated by the Uttarakhand Urban Development Department to the state level delegation that will attend. The Union Ministry of Urban Affairs will organise the Forum on 3-5 March.

The state level delegation will also include Dehradun Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal; Nitika Khandelwal, Director, Urban Development Department; Namami Bansal, Municipal Commissioner, Dehradun; Naresh Durgapal, Municipal Commissioner, Rudrapur; Vinod Kumar, Assistant Director, Urban Development Department; and Bharat Tripathi, Incharge Assistant Municipal Commissioner, Almora. Implementing circular societies is a key to achieving sustainable development goals and carbon neutrality in Asia-Pacific. The aim of this forum is to promote the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and circular economy in the Asia-Pacific region. It will serve as a platform to provide policy inputs to government officials and exchange best practices. The Jaipur Declaration will be adopted at the conclusion of the forum, which will provide a framework to enable the transition to a resource-efficient, circular economy. India’s Pavilion will showcase its achievements in the field of 3R and Circular Economy, reflecting India’s holistic government approach. The Forum is expected to witness participation from 38 invited member countries, 15-line ministries of the Government of India, almost all States/Union Territories, over 60 cities, over 40 startups and businesses, and around 120 speakers over 3 days. The Forum will serve as a platform for policy discussions, collaboration and knowledge exchange, accelerating progress towards the achievement of circular economy and Sustainable Development Goals.
