Following the meeting at her camp office, Minister Rekha Arya stated that a proposal to offer jobs to medal winners will soon be presented in the cabinet. She assured that the process will be completed swiftly. Additionally, the government has initiated the distribution of cash prizes announced for medal-winning athletes. The minister directed officials to ensure that cash rewards are given to athletes at the earliest.

During the meeting, Minister Arya emphasised the need for a policy to manage and maintain the sports infrastructure in the state, including stadiums, auditoriums, multipurpose halls, cycling velodromes, and shooting ranges. She instructed officials to develop a Legacy Plan to oversee these facilities efficiently.

Special Sports Secretary Amit Sinha, Sports Director Prashant Arya, and other officials were present at the meeting.

Uttarakhand athletes secured a total of 103 medals at the National Games. All team event medallists will be eligible for government jobs, provided they have a domicile or permanent residency certificate of Uttarakhand.

Minister Rekha Arya also directed officials to begin the selection process for new athletes under the Mukhyamantri Khiladi Udayimaan Unnayan Yojana and Mukhyamantri Khiladi Protsahan Yojana. She emphasised that trial dates should be declared soon after consulting district officials and aligning with the education department’s academic calendar. She urged officials not to wait for the next academic session but to complete the process immediately.
