Kotdwar, 30 Mar: Sarita Negi from Ghamandpur, Kotdwar Assembly constituency, has brought pride to the stated by winning a gold medal in the national-level Sqay Martial Arts competition.
Assembly Speaker and local MLA Ritu Khanduri Bhushan personally visited Sarita Negi and her father-in-law, Lal Singh (a former soldier), at their residence to congratulate them on her remarkable achievement in the Senior Sqay Martial Arts Championship 2024-25 at the national level. She stated that Sarita Negi has not only brought honour to Kotdwar but also made the entire country proud.
Sarita has previously demonstrated her sporting talent across various states in India as well as in Nepal, earning her recognition and a certificate of appreciation from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. This prestigious award is given to exceptionally talented young athletes in the country. She has also been selected to represent India in an international competition in Korea.
Being the daughter-in-law of a former soldier, it is a matter of great pride that a woman is balancing her household responsibilities while excelling in sports and bringing recognition to her family and society. Special appreciation was extended to Lal Singh and his family for their unwavering support and encouragement in her journey.
