Dehradun, 22 May: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, in a high-level meeting held with senior officials at his residence here today, directed the administration to intensify efforts against corruption and encroachment across Uttarakhand. The CM emphasised that the campaign against corruption must continue without interruption and instructed the officials to widely publicise the toll-free anti-corruption helpline number 1064 so that common people can easily report any corrupt practices.

Dhami also sought from the officials a detailed report on all actions taken in cases related to forced or mass religious conversions. He also asserted the need for regular and relentless verification drives in every district. He said that in case any suspicious activity or individual comes to notice, immediate and strict action should be taken.

The CM also issued clear instructions that proper verification of Aadhaar cards and other government documents must be ensured at the time of their issuance. He warned that strict action would be taken against any officials found guilty of issuing fake or fraudulent documents.

Dhami further directed that the anti-encroachment drive should also be carried out relentlessly. He said that land which has already been freed from encroachment should not be allowed to be re-encroached under any circumstances. The CM further ordered a detailed survey and also sought a report on the status of encroachments on enemy properties in the state.

Highlighting the importance of local employment, Dhami instructed that local labourers must be given priority in all government construction works. He also stressed that the state’s unique cultural identity and traditional Himalayan architectural style should be reflected in the design of new government buildings.

The CM directed the officials to strengthen security arrangements in border areas and to conduct intensive checking drives to ensure law and order.

Also present at the meeting were Principal Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, Additional Director General of Police (ADG) V Murugesan, ADG AP Anshuman, Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman, and Vice Chairman of MDDA Banshidhar Tiwari.
