Dehradun, 25 Jul: Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) today celebrated its 47th Foundation Day with much fervour at its office in Dehradun, where the party workers gathered to commemorate the occasion.

On this occasion, tributes were also paid to Sridev Suman on his death anniversary. He was described by the party leaders as a distinguished revolutionary and a towering figure from the hills, whose legacy continues to inspire the region’s quest for identity and progress. Addressing the party workers, senior party leaders recalled the struggles of the statehood movement, lamenting that the aspirations of those who sacrificed everything for Uttarakhand remain largely unfulfilled. They conveyed a pressing need to initiate a renewed public agitation aimed at securing the true vision for Uttarakhand, as dreamed by its martyrs.

On this occasion, the UKD also welcomed retired CMO Shibba Kuriyal from Chamoli district and Col BS Negi (Retd) into its fold. Both the new members declared that their decision was prompted by growing disillusionment with the state of affairs in ‘Devbhoomi’ under the stewardship of the two major national parties. Affirming their intent, they pledged to dedicate themselves to safeguarding the distinct regional identity and heritage of Uttarakhand.

The event saw the participation of a large number of party workers and leaders, including senior leader Latafat Hussain, Central Vice-President Jaiprakash Upadhyay, Mahanagar President Vijendra Singh Rawat, as well as Rampal, Jabar Singh Pavel, Sufi Khaliq Ahmed, Kishore Bahuguna, Vijay Baudai, Bahadur Singh Rawat, Rajendra Pradhan, Deepak Rawat, Praveen Ramola, Bihari Lal Jaguri, Prabhat Dandriyal, Vikas Bhatt, Sanjay Mishra, and Yogesh Papne.
