Heavy rain in Mussoorie causes damage to two houses

Mussoorie, 27 Jul: Nature has once again shaken the lives of the poor living in Mussoorie. Due to the recent heavy rains, the houses of two families in the Nepali Basti (Kincraig area) located below the petrol pump in Mussoorie were hit by water and debris. In this hour of crisis, the administration and local public representatives showed sensitivity and wiped the tears of the affected families.
On Sunday, amidst heavy rains, Municipal Council Chairperson Meera Saklani, BJP Mandal President Rajat Agarwal and administrative officials reached the spot and handed over relief cheques to the affected families. The affected families thanked the government, Municipal Chairperson and the administration wholeheartedly. The eyes of a female member of a family filled with tears when she said, “We were not able to think where to go but getting help so soon is more than our expectations.”
Meera Saklani said that the state government is fully alert regarding disasters and providing timely help to the needy is its priority. She declared, “We have not come only to distribute cheques, we have also come to assure that you are not alone.” She said that the promptness of SDM, Mussoorie, Kumkum Joshi was also appreciated. Under her leadership, the administrative team conducted a rapid survey after heavy rains and approved the relief amount within 24 hours. This action not only became an example of efficient administration but also strengthened the trust of the public.
