Dehradun, 29 Jul: After a video went viral showing youths breaking a car window on Kanwali Road, police investigation has now revealed the full story. It turns out that the car driver, Vineet Singhal, had first hit two boys riding a scooter in the Patel Nagar area and fled from the spot.
Angered by the accident, the boys chased the car. Due to slow traffic on Kanwali Road, the car had to stop, and the boys caught up with it. In frustration, they broke the rear window of the car.
Earlier, the car owner had lodged a complaint at Kotwali Nagar Police Station, stating that unknown people attacked him and damaged his vehicle.
However, after checking CCTV footage, police found that it was the car owner who first hit the scooter while taking a U-turn. The police confirmed that this was a case of road rage. Both the car owner and the youths involved are residents of Dehradun.
The police acted quickly, identified the youths, and took legal action against them. Officials also confirmed that no criminals were involved in this case, and it happened purely due to anger and reaction after the accident.
