Sirmaur, 9 Oct: A tree plantation drive, themed ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, was held today at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh, in collaboration with the Central Academy for State Forest Service (CASFOS), Dehradun. The event was presided over by Bharati, Director of the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA), Dehradun.

The event began this morning with the ceremonial planting of saplings within the IIM Sirmaur campus, symbolising the institution’s commitment to environmental conservation. A variety of trees, including Ashoka and Amaltas, were planted during the drive. Following this, an interactive dialogue was held between the directors and faculty members of both the institutions, which focussed on management education, research, and academic advancement. The exchange of ideas marked a progressive step towards strengthening collaboration and shaping the future direction of the institutions.

According to Bharati, the initiative not only promoted environmental awareness but also inspired emotional connection with nature through its theme.

Among those who participated at the event included Prafull Agnihotri, Director of IIM Sirmaur, along with the Principal, faculty members and officer trainees of CASFOS Dehradun, and the faculty, staff and students of IIM Sirmaur.
