Doiwala (Dehradun), 21 Nov: The crushing season for the Doiwala Sugar Mill for 2025–26 officially began today with an inauguration ceremony held today. The event began with Havan Pujan, followed by the felicitation of the farmer who brought the first tractor trolley load of sugarcane for crushing. The season was formally launched with the loading of the first bundle of sugarcane into the crane, marking the start of operations.

Speaking at the event, former Cabinet Minister Premchand Aggarwal said that the government stands firmly with the farmers and assured that the sugarcane price for Uttarakhand will be fixed soon. He emphasised that the government is consistently taking decisions in the interest of the farmers.
Local MLA Brijbhushan Gairola highlighted the administration’s efforts for sugarcane growers, pointing out that, unlike in the past when farmers faced delays in payments, the present government has adopted a policy of clearing all dues promptly at the end of the season, which has brought significant relief to the farming community.
Dinesh Pratap Singh, Executive Director of the Sugar Mill, announced that the crushing season has begun with a target of 30 lakh quintals of sugarcane. He appealed to the farmers to supply clean and fresh sugarcane to ensure smooth operations and better output.
Among those present on this occasion included Dehradun Sugarcane Committee President Dinesh Chauhan, former Doiwala Sugarcane Committee President Manoj Nautiyal, Senior Advocate Alka Singh, Rajendra Tadiyal, Arvind Sharma, Darpan Bora, Narendra Negi, Purushottam Dobhal, along with several other farmers, marking a collective show of support for the new season.
