Dehradun, 2 Dec: Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi on Tuesday chaired a review meeting at the Manthan Auditorium on Rajpur Road, here, regarding the preparations for the “Mussoorie Winterline Carnival 2025”. He issued detailed instructions to the departments concerned to ensure the successful holding of this grand carnival, which will be held in Mussoorie from 24 to 29 December.
During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on activities planned to make the Winterline Carnival attractive and vibrant—such as the grand procession, cultural programmes, adventure sports, competitions, seminars, traditional events, food festival, motorbike rally, marathon, nature walk, star gazing, history walk, and vintage rally. The Minister directed officials to prepare the schedule for all events in a time-bound manner and ensure effective execution.
Minister Ganesh Joshi emphasised that tourists visiting the “Queen of the Hills” during the carnival should not face any inconvenience. He instructed that arrangements related to parking, traffic management, security, drinking water and power supply, bonfire areas, and sanitation must be completed in time. He also stressed on prioritising local artists and Uttarakhand’s cultural heritage by organising a variety of cultural programmes throughout the week-long carnival.
Regarding the Food Festival, the Minister directed that, along with traditional mountain cuisine, millet-based dishes and products should be specially included. He said the carnival provides an important opportunity to promote the state’s culture, traditions, and local products; therefore, widespread publicity must be ensured.
Present at the meeting were Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal, Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, MDDA Secretary Mohan Singh Bernia, along with district administration officials and members of the Carnival Committee.
